Jets Looking For Families to House Players

The Jamestown Jets are looking for local families that are looking to house junior hockey players for the 2010-2011 season.
The Jamestown Jets are ready to take the ice for their third season in Jamestown, NY. As always the team will have a local flavor, but many of the players leave home to pursue their dream of playing hockey at the next level. In the process they need a place to call their temporary home.
The Jamestown Jets organization is committed to excellence both on and off the ice. The goal is to develop players to become better hockey players on the ice and help them off the ice by participating in community events as well as furthering their education while pursuing their dream of continuing their hockey career.
The Jets season is from August through March and the players, age 16-20, become an important part of the Jamestown community. Families that take on the responsibility of being a billet family will receive monthly compensation from the player and their family that is due the first of every month. The Billet family has the responsibility of providing a safe, clean home environment, meals, and transportation as needed. They will also ensure that players pursue their education and attend classes and school s scheduled. Billet families receive the support of our coaching staff and housing coordinators to assist with any financial, educational, or discipline concerns. Billet families will be interviewed by the housing coordinators and coaching staff. Players will be placed with families that best suit their accommodation needs.
