The Jamestown Jets announced the dates and opponents for 2010-2011. The season will once again be highlighted by the New Year’s Eve game and the NJHL Showcase in Jamestown, NY for the third consecutive season.

(Jamestown, NY)  The Jamestown Jets announced the dates and opponents for 2010-2011. The season will once again be highlighted by the New Year’s Eve game and the NJHL Showcase in Jamestown, NY for the third consecutive season.

The season will open on September 10 at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena against Troy Bruins, the team that eliminated them from the playoffs last season. Jamestown will have hopes of avenging their disappointing playoff loss from last season in front of the home crowd.

October will be a busy month for the Jets although they play only twice on home ice. The Alpena Thunder will come to Jamestown for the first time on October 22-23, marking the only weekend the Jets will be at home in October. The Jets will play six games on the road during October, the most of any month in the season.

The Jets will have their longest road trip of the season during November and December. The trip will be six games beginning November 12 at Battle Creek and concluding December 4th against the Troy Bruins.

The home schedule gets into full swing after the Christmas Holiday. The Jets play at home on New Year’s Eve, when the Bruins come to town for the final time of the regular season. The Jets will remain at home for the entire month of January. It will officially be an eight game home stretch but that doesn’t include the College Showcase in early January.

The College Showcase will be held January 7 – January 9 with all six teams and potentially a Russian Select team for the second consecutive season. This will mark the third consecutive season the Jets have hosted the College Showcase.

The regular season will conclude on March 4-5 with the Jets hosting the Danville Express for a pair of games. The playoffs will begin the following weekend with best-of-three semi-finals.
