Simpson will become the third Jet to wear #7 when he takes the ice next season.
Simpson comes to the Jets from Anaheim California, where he played AAA last season for the Orange County Hockey Club. In 37 games he tallied 8 goals, 25 assist and was +15 while playing on the blue line. Simpson and Coach Canfield are very familiar with each other, as Jordan played for the Jets coach two summers ago on a AAA tournament team. Simpson is no stranger to Jamestown, having attended Jets camp last summer.
“Jordan is a very versatile player whom is extremely dedicated on and off the ice. He has tremendous upside skill wise and is in great shape that coupled with his maturity will certainly pay dividends to this hockey club we are excited to have him join the Jets family”
The Jets staff expects Simpson to play both forward and defense this season after his last coach former NHL player JF Jomphe moved him to defense where he fit in nicely. “His ability to play both up front offensively and back on defense allows our staff to substitute different players into certain situation especially on special teams because he won’t be out of place…it’s a good situation to be in when making decisions as a coach”.
