JETS TO HOST TROY BRUINS IN FIRST ROUND PLAYOFF

(Jamestown, NY )  Fresh off their emotional come from behind victory over the Wooster Oilers last weekend, the Jamestown Jets are set to host the second place Troy Bruins in the best-of-three first round of the playoffs this weekend.

The Jets hope they can carry over the momentum from last week against a Troy team they have struggled against this season. The Jets dropped five of their six matchups against the Bruins this season including three out of four in Jamestown.

The Jets win over Troy was a 4-1 victory at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena back in December. David Moore had three assists in that game and Jon Gratton scored twice.  Jets captain Dan Igielinski and forward Jon Cirone scored the other goals for Jamestown in that game.

The Jets have added some weapons since their last meeting against Troy and none will be more important than goalie Chad Karns. Karns was added to the roster about a month ago and has looked good, posting three wins including a pair against the high powered offense of the Wooster Oilers.

Game one of the series will faceoff on Friday night at 7:35 p.m., game two will be played on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. and game three will be played on Sunday at 2 p.m. if necessary. Tickets for each game are available at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena box office and weekend passes will also be available. Tickets will be $7 for adults and $5 for kids for individual games or $12 for a weekend pass for both children and adults.

This will be the last time this season to come out to the Arena and show your support for the Jamestown Jets. The winner of this series will play in the Championship the weekend of March 27 at the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster, Ohio.
