They haven’t played at home since they beat Mercyhurst College in an exhibition game back in early February. There are just four more home games left on the schedule and the action begins this weekend. The Jets will host the first place Wooster Oilers on Friday and Saturday night at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.
The Jets are hoping that home ice will be the recipe for a couple of victories against the league’s top team. Jamestown has a 12-11-0 record on home ice but they dropped their only two home games against the Oilers back in October.
The Jets know they can skate with the first place Oilers as a result of their 8-6 win in early December. Nate Hughes, David Moore and Dan Igielinski each had three points in that game while Jon Gratton scored a pair of goals.
The Oilers come in to the game having lost only three times in regulation all season. They have already secured the top spot in the Northern Junior Hockey League with a remarkable 75 points. The Troy Bruins sit in second place and they have 49 points or 26 less than the first place Oilers.
Don’t miss out on your chance to see the Jamestown Jets play this season. Time is running out with only four games left in the season. Faceoff is scheduled for 7:35 p.m. on Friday and Saturday night. Tickets are available at www.jamestownjets.com.
