JETS BATTLE SECOND PLACE BRUINS THIS WEEKEND

(Jamestown, NY)    The Jamestown Jets kicked off 2010 with a bang. They completed a three game sweep of the Findlay Grrrowl and outscored their rival 29-13 last weekend. All three goalies seen action last weekend and Nate Hughes led the charge offensively with eight goals in three games.

The Jets offense came from all four lines and a couple of youngsters had an unforgettable weekend. Hometown kids Matt Sullivan and John Melcher both scored for the first time in their Northern Junior Hockey League Careers.

Last weekend the Jets faced a familiar foe and this weekend they take on a less familiar opponent. The second place Troy Bruins will visit Jamestown for only the second time ever. The Jets and Bruins split the last series with Jamestown winning the first meeting while the Bruins avoided the sweep in game two.

The Bruins are coming off a very tough series against the first place Wooster Oilers last weekend. The Bruins lost the first two games of the series but managed to squeak out  5-4 shootout victory.

The first game of the series will faceoff on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. and the second game will be Saturday with a special 4 p.m. faceoff. Tickets are still available for this weekend by visiting www.jamestownjets.com or at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena box office.
