(Jamestown, NY) The Jamestown Jets continued their recent home success with a weekend sweep of their cross-state rival the Adirondack Predators. Jamestown won the first game 4-1 and controlled the entire game. If not for the goaltending of Predators goalie Kyle Shampine the score could have been more lopsided.

Jamestown won the first game 4-1 and controlled the entire game. If not for the goaltending of Predators goalie Kyle Shampine the score could have been more lopsided.
Brandon Renckens and Jon Cirone each had a goal and assist in the Jets victory. Rick Hennard stopped 25-of-26 shots he faced allowing only a third period power play goal. Hennard received plenty of help from his teammates who cleared away most rebounds and controlled the puck most of the night. Hennard stopped 25-of-26 shots in earning his second win of the season.
On Saturday night the Jets had fans thinking back to the 2008-2009 Jets that dominated most opponents. The Jets scored nine times en route to a 9-2 victory. Nate Hughes was the hero of the game with four goals and an assist. Ethan Adamczyk was between the pipes for Jamestown and he was stellar stopping 34-of-36 shots and increasing his record to 5-5-0.
Daniel Dennitton gave the Jamestown the early spark they needed with a wrist shot that beat Shampine just over a minute after the opening faceoff. The Jets seemed to build momentum from that goal and Hughes scored his first of the game on a pretty passing play from Jon Gratton. Later in the first period Gratton on what was almost an instant replay of the Hughes goal earlier in the period.
Joe Rohm scored to give Jamestown a 4-0 lead and Adirondcak finally got on the board about midway through the first period. Ivan Dubaikin tipped a point shot from Matt Huckro through the legs of Adamczyk. Adamczyk made the initial save but the puck trickled through his legs and slid slowly over the goal line to erase the shutout bid. Hughes scored his second and third goals of the game before the period ended to give Jamestown a 6-1 lead after 40 minutes.
Brandon Renckens scored his second in as many nights, Nate Hughes added his fourth of the night and Ryan Cunningham scored before the midway point of the third period to give Jamestown a 9-1 lead. Adirondack added a late power play goal to give Jamestown the 9-2 victory.
The pair wins extends the Jets home winning streak to four games but they will head on the road for the next four games. The Jets will try to continue their recent success against Adirondack next weekend in Albany. The Jets will return home for a pair of games on December 12 and 13 against the Troy Bruins. It will be the first meeting ever between the two teams.
