Jamestown Jets Welcome Findlay to Begin 2009-2010 Season

(Jamestown, NY)  -   The 2009-2010 Hockey Season is rapidly approaching. The Jamestown Jets will begin their second season on Friday night at 7:35 p.m. at the Jamestown Savings Bank Ice Arena.  The Jets have plenty of special activities planned for opening night including $1 hot dog and $1 beer specials for the fans to enjoy.  “We are very excited to start the season and we are expecting a good crowd to support the team” V.P. / Head Coach Dennis Canfield said.

This weekend marks opening weekend of the entire Northern Junior Hockey League with the Jets hosting Findlay on Friday and Saturday at 7:35 p.m.  This will mark the second consecutive year the Jets will begin the season at home.  They began 2008 with a two game sweep of the Wooster Oilers.

Some Jets will have extra emotions against Findlay this weekend.  The Findlay Grrrowl beat the Jets in overtime of Game Three of the Knox Cup last season to win the series two games to one.  The Jets were the regular season champions last season but came up one game short of their ultimate goal of winning a championship.
